Link doesn't work but I assume you are refering to Indonesia refusing 120 Ghurka troops. They have accepted the loan of two helicopters though, stating their need is more technical help.

On a more serious note with Indonesia refusing 120 Ghurka troops, i am a little surprised as i would have thought they'd need all the help they can get but i don't know enough about the country and it's resources to pass comment.

It's hard to say why they have refused the help but it is also true that the world and his wife turning up doesn't necessarily improve matters. Maybe their help just isn't needed.

That's not a snub. They're simply turning down stuff they don't need. If they have too many ground troops, it'll divert the focus away from they things they really need.

I think it is also political sensitivities and past Ghurka involvement in East Timor where Indonesian Government felt a bit humiliated. Shame though as I would have thought there was plenty for the Ghurkas to be getting on with to help. DL

Perhaps it just that they have enough "Men on the ground" but need more machinery to get the aid in...
Sounds like they have it under control..
