Default SMS delivery reports?

Do they work?

eg, if you have your phone deactivated or off, will it just say pending? Just I sent one to a mate in the US who's phone doesn't work (for when he returns in a few days) and it said its been delivered?!

Im on Orange, not sure if they support reports.

Delivered would mean their phone was on and received the message. The pending one u usually get instantly which just confirms that to u that u sent one.

I thought Orange was the only company that gave reports. I'm with them and i have the option to get one for each text i send.

You can select them on all networks as long as the phone you have supports them. To be honest, all phones probably support them nowadays. To turn them off on a Nokia the option would probably be found at the beginning of your SMS menu, under options.

TBH I was under the impression that it was only Orange as well. I've just moved over to O2 and can't seem to get them. I've got a 6230 so would have thought it would be supported...?

As requested above, any idea how to turn 'em on?

I've been on every network except O2 and have always had them... Just maybe O2 don't support them. Seems a bit strange though.

I had 2 Nokia 8200's (i think that was the handset name) at the same time a couple of years ago, the o2 handset was about 10 months newer than the orange one but only the orange one had the delivery report option on it.

o2 does not have delivery reports. to turn them off or on, on a nokia go into messages then message settings, then either go into the sending profile go into the menu the 3rd option i think is the delivery report and turn them on. orange does have delivery reports. pending means you've sent it but it hasn't been delivered because either the recepiants phones off or they have no reception. when it gets delivered to them and they read it you'l get a message saying its delivered. hope that helps
