UK based short breaks
Any recommendations ?
The wife is a teacher so we are limited as to when we can get away and all the more so as none of my leave is tallying up with her hols
She has a couple of days in Feb when I can organise time off so we have a 4/5 day window to get away. As much as I can appreciate that the cost of a UK based hol at this time could probably get me off to sunnier climbs I cannot be arsed with the hassle of flights ect eating into our time off. Likewise I do not wish to drive too far on our glorious UK roads
Anyone got views on Centre Parcs Oasis Whinfell Forest ? Or are there any other places I should consider ?
Cheers
Paul

As far as i'm concerned you can't beat loch lomond, fairly local to you as well, depends what you're into i suppose. Feb is perhaps not the best time to go up but if you ever go up April-September let me know and i'm sure i could organise something for you

know what you are saying mate but just like the idea of the whole "under cover" thing with the weather being what it will in Feb.
Going to have a wander down to the travel agents today to get some more ideas but would be good to hear from people who have tried these places.

havent been to the one near you but have been to the center parcs at longleat and elveden. I find it really easy to relax there, it is expensive if you do loads of activities, but its peaceful and I always get the feeling of being secluded even though there are loads of others around your villa etc.
last time we went, the girlfriend had me abseiling (spelling), doing archery, badminton etc it was great! They also, had an indoor golf simulator which helped
