i've found out why we havnt been able to register and update Road Angel
..just had a call from a lady from Road Angel cos i was having problems...
a hacker got into the system yesterday, ive been talked through the process and my unit is now upgrading
am happy now

A hacker? I'm highly skeptical about that. Maybe they has a DOS attack, that would be consistent with the poor server response times, but that problem was persisting this morning too!

the rang me back and explained that the server was hacked. they think they have sorted it out but because of this there is now a lot of traffic.
if anyone updated their unit they were lucky. i had to restart mine loads of times.....it now says data uploaded succesfully so i think mine is done now

2) "Downloading coordinate data from server"
3) "Downloading data to unit"
(or something similar)
Then it does "Sending confirmation to server" before finally saying "finished".
But as I said... it has been extremely slow. I don't think their infrastructure can cope with a higher load than normal.

mine said data was succesfully loaded................is it finished now

I don't think it's just new units either, i just tried updating my Road Angel 2 which has been registered since September and that won't work either.

Had ago twice today , rang them and checked they said do this do that will be ok, it still hasnt done it gets to 60% and thats it now there not there to speak to really pissed off
