I used to have the SD815 and IMO it was rubbish, it only found some gatao's, no hand held guns and all Petrol stations for
I sold it on ebay for more than I paid for it. I love ebay mugs
Not worth the money

I totally agree with darlodge. These things are a piece of poo! Mc Donalds, petrol stations etc it would beep away merrily for no reason.
The only one I would recommend getting is the top end Bel ones, the 330 and the 550. They work very well but have a price tag to match.
In my opionion go for a gps based one (origin, origin B2, road angel etc) and also get a jammer too for full protection like a LRC100 or a Blinder M10 twin like I have for sale.

Do Halfords know something we don't about the proposed illegality of these things?

It's common knowledge that they're being outlawed, by next April at the latest. So you're buying something with a limited shelf life.
