didnt get anything or give anything. Christmas is more to do with companies making a killing than a religious celebration which it originally was. FFS many big stores start Christmas carols in October now.

Bizarre, we've just had more or less the same conversation!

Merry Christmas Andrew (and all other SN addicts).

James

PS Scoobynet before opening presents (how sad is that?)

Waiting for my family in the UK to come online so I can Webcam with them and wish them a Merry Christmas - so just doing the monitoring thang on scoobynet.

I got a new phone, mini ipod, camping chairs, toiletries and loads of chocolates along with some booze.

Merry Christmas to all, have had the most awesome Christmas dinner and am starting to feel sleepy after a healthy dose of alcohol. OMG I am getting old!!!! It's only 8pm here!!!

Merry Christmas? Pah, youve just been suckered into a commercial Christmas! Ever thought who/what the white old bloke you see in the red and white suit? Just another thing the yanks have taken and 'jazzed up' to make it more glitzy. Thank an artist making billboards for coca cola for the modern image of santa claus.

Cool

That's for later on.

Or pretty soon actually.

You should have seen the work christmas bbq......King Prawns, normal prawns, crabs, lobster, steaks, sausages, bacon, foccacia style rolls, potato salad, pasta salad, garden salad and soft drinks (naturally no alcohol during work hours ).

I am not too sure if I am going to fit into my clothes after this weekend and then I have NYE to contend with which s gonna be a BBQ if we don't venture into the actual City. Living in North Sydney I have pretty good options for getting to various spots for a great Harbour view.

I got nothing but a hangover and fully intend to get the same again tomorrow morning Did surprise the missus with some gold and intend to reap my rewards later fnarr, fnarr.

The turkey is on, the champagne is ready for popping, the fois gras which we tucked into last night is very, very, very good indeed and I'm outta here. The absolute best part of the day is the "blow out" after the brussel sprouts have started to work Watch those guests squirm !

Merry Christmas you lot !

Go under the bridge at the end of Kirribilli Ave. That's where I'll be - they have beer tents and stuff and the view is really good.

It'll be packed.

Is the beer free? Are you on holiday or over there for a while or living there?

A friend of mine has a balcony overlooking the bay opposite the Opera House, might go there.

I wish! You have to pay for the beer I'm afraid. It won't be that packed - I was there in 2002. Wasn't too bad at all. Spectacular views (even though the 9 o'clock ones got cancelled due to high winds).

I moved here about 7 months ago. I too have Opera House views (Waruda St) , but it doesn't have a balcony, so I'm off to Balmain at the end of the month.

Cheers.
