Wrapping Presents
Is anyone here any good at wrapping presents?
I consider myself to be pretty good with my hands when it comes to DIY, making things and suchlike, but the standard of my present wrapping is, quite frankly, embarrassing!
Everything looks good after the first pass of the paper around the first axis, secured with a strip of cellotape. Edges are nice and square, length is trimmed to perfection, but then comes the tricky fold into two triangles at the ends. Despite the paper being perfectly in tolerance my triangles somehow become uneven, and I'm left with a flap of paper, then the cellotape folds over ontop of itself during application leaving the whole thing looking like a dog's dinner!
What is the secret? (apart from employing a menial to do it for me of course! )
Or am I just a present-spastic?

Order off the net and tick the box "gift wrapping"
Most of mine turned up wrapped and with hand written tag on it.
EASY
Andy
But I can do a good job of wrapping normal oblong or square items...
It's the odd shaped **** that catches me out.

Place in carrier bag that came free of charge with purchase. Fold the top of bag down. Seal over with "seasonal" tape or tie with ribbon. Works even better if you shop somewhere with seasonal carrier bags (e.g. Asda).
Posh option - as above, but remove receipt from bag first.
I can wrap, but the above is much less effort!

Very often, near Christmas, various charities set up wrapping services at shopping centres and the like. You donate a modest sum, which goes to a good cause, and you get your presents beautifully wrapped.
Not that I need such a service because, being a girl, I am a dab hand at it!

I don't know ajm, you're an enigma man. You can build an all singing all dancing fish tank from the ground up and it's perfect, but when it comes to wrapping a few presents or hanging curtains you're lost - I don't get it?

Actually curtains are no longer a problem, they are now part of my repertoire. Present wrapping still eludes me however..... I can't be good at EVERYTHING I suppose....
