Default Thelwall Viaduct

**** me its finally open (Northbound at least)

And like last time, they have the banners out (Oh look at how good we are, we completed 6 months ahead of schedule again)

I am a little worried, that they have finished it 6 months ahead of schedule, cos they did this last time, and forgot to put all the proper supports in or something like that, resulting in roadworks again for the last 3 years or so

Standard "trick of the trade" in project management. If something should take 2 years, you declare it will take 4. Then when everything over-runs and it takes 3 1/2 years, you can claim "6 months early".

Or you could go the government (channel tunnel, scottish parliament) way of running projects. Have no idea what it will cost or how long it will take, so think of a number that will get you funding. Completely **** up running the project, come in years late at 1000% overspend.

I went over the viaduct with our kid navigating, I thought wow, they've done one side and now they're doing the other side...turns out we were heading north instead of south

I bet you in a few weeks time they'll realise "Oops, we forgot to fix the Southbound bridge" and all traffic will be shifted to the newly fixed bridge which will then break under the extra load.

Big Bridge on the M6 right? (where they built the second one...)

We went over that years back on a windy day and I looked behind to see a caravan tip over and spread itself clean across all 3 lanes...

10 mins later my Mum says - it's very quiet on the M6 today... no one's gone past us for AGES....

I went over the Southbound bridge earlier today (the highlight of 50-odd miles of crawling traffic), and on the final approach the Highways Agency have the audacity to erect a special sign saying something along the lines of - "Narrow lanes and pathetically low 40mph limit still being enforced (by SPECS) over the Christmas Holidays, despite half the southbound bridge width being coned off for no reason whatsoever, to ensure your comfort and safety"
