Deffo British squaddies. The person who did the recce for that beach assault probably got a few extra duties. I also wouldn't want to have to clean those weapons afterwards. Knowing the SA80 as I do, they might as well throw them in the bin.
Funniest bit was the guy whose life preserver inflated. He probably got a bill for that as well.

ROFL!
Might as well chuck those weapons!
There'll be sand in all the really awkward places.... certainly wouldn't bother trying to fire one!

Actually, the A2 is one of the most reliable weapons you can get. I admit, the first model was very poor though.......

Please tell me you are joking. Reliable compared to what? I've seen demonstrations where AK47's are buried in sand, dug up and fired without problems, also dropped in a muddy puddle and fired. Will the A2 do that? Less stoppages I grant you, but still a shoddy weapon. Especially if you're a sapper and don't get the SUSAT.
