Default Quick SKY+ question.

Having SKY+ installed this aft with old box being transfered to another room.
Do both boxes need to be connected to a phone line or just the new + box.

Cheers

Do they insist on 2 separate sockets or can you run the two from one socket.

As long as it's the same "telephone line" it doesn't matter.

you won't get interactive unless it's connected to the phone line. They will insist on all boxes being connected but you only are committed to it until the box is 1yr old.

If you have more than 1 box in your household, all boxes must be connected to your phone line permanantly. Its basically to ensure that all boxes are in your household and that you havent given one to your mate/family etc on a cheaper subscription. If you disconnect any box from phone then that box will be charged at full subscription and not the discounted price you are getting.

We re-carpeted about six months ago and both sky boxes got plugged back in to the wrong line. I got regular warnings from sky that they had not been able to get a callback from the boxes, then they started charging me extra.

If your boxes are not connected to the phone you will get charged extra sooner or later. Even once I sorted it they carried on charging me every month, then crediting me when i complained. Seems to be sorted now but it was a major PITA

Same as RRH for me. They're much hotter on clamping down if you have Sky+ for exactly the reasons mentioned above. I got 5 letters before they started charging me. I had no problems wit hthe idea od keeping them connected to the phone line - but it caused a problem with my ADSL connection which I eventually sorted. Sky also credited the extra charge once I explained things to them.

Ian

PS - Irrespective of the hassle of keeping the boxes connected, Sky+ is just brilliant!!!!
