Various courses available depending on what you want to achieve.
Personally I wouldn't have a plumber unless he'd done a time served apprenticeship with a minimum of City and Guilds, BTECH or similar. Probably looking at four years in total.
I've currently booked a plumber to change my bathroom suite and install a shower. He quoted a 6 month wait but is hoping to pull it in a bit sooner.
Same goes for Electricians, don't touch them unless they are fully time served or unless they come highly recommended. Too many cowboys out there who do a few weeks at tech and think they are fully qualified tradesmen.
Cheers

I think they turn up, quote, start the job and then go and get the training, can be the only explanation or dissapearing like plumbers do, one in Carlisle, went 'to get some parts' in 1937 only to return in May of 2002, and he had got the wrong bit.

Have you ever done any plumbing or any kind of building work?
Do you want to become Corgi registered or just have general plumbing knowledge?
There are courses but round my way they're booked up for the next 5 years as loads of city types who've probably only ever assembled some Ikea furniture are rushing to make some fast bucks. The only courses that were available were for students put forward by plumbing firms.
