Mini I Pod Help
Hi All
Have bought the girlfriend a mini i pod for christmas, and I am trying to load some music onto it.
I initially installed the software, and it couldnt locate the ipod through my usb port, carried on and installed it anyway, loaded some music into itunes but could not get any further.
Tried to update the ipod but the pc and the ipod are not linked, even when the usb cable is connected.
Each time I insert the USB cable it looks for the driver for the new hardware, with the ipod disc in the pc it still cannot install it
I have reset the ipod and tried using the firewire cable also, same results.
Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this?
If anyone wants to pm their phone number to talk me through this I will gladly call.
Thanks all.
Best
Mark

Mark,
Is the iPod formatted for the PC? If it is a Mac format iPod then Windows will see it as a USB drive but iTunes will NOT see it, nor with Windows Explorer (you will see drive E: or something like that. When you select it windows will ask if you want to format it)
What you would need to do at this point is launch the PC iPod software updater (download the latest if your don't have it from www.apple.com/support) and click 'restore' this will format it in PC format and then iTunes will be able to see it.
When it comes to USB, the iPod needs USB 2.0 on the PC, so if you don't have USB 2.0 it won't show up at all.
Oh, what version of windows are you using?
Have you got access to a Macintosh at all? if so, plug the little fella into the mac and see if the mac recognises it.
