Default What do you want at your funeral?

I've been to a funeral today. A much loved friend of many years. First funeral of someone of my own generation I've been to. Thing is, I took another friend with me and there we were in this Roman Catholic Church for the full service and she turned to me and said "we should really be in a smoke filled room at a party with rock music playing".
I had to agree.
So, face the inevitable and say how you would like to be remembered by your family and friends.

Dont know really. Suppose just like everyone to remember me for the good things about me rather than anything else.

Chip.

I've always wanted a viking funeral, but even if they were legal I doubt my estate could afford one. Shame, it's the best way to go..

I just hate crematoriums, so that's out. I've been to a few and they have all been awful, so clinical and you're in the front door and out the back.

My Auntie died suddenly of Liver failure in June this year in her early 50's. She had a full church service in a big town CofE church. Over 700 people turned up, people were standing in the aisles and in door ways. The Vicar said he had never seen so many people at the church for any event. There were quite a few readings and thoughts from speakers which were all very moving.
Sought of got me thinking really, what will I do in my life, will I have a few people to wave me off or will I have made such an impression in peoples lives that large numbers will come and see me off.

So for me I'm not to bothered how I'm seen off as long as it's not at the crem. I'll be hopefull that people think enough of me to come and say goodbye.

Most of us will also recall a scoobynetter who passed away and received a full scooby escort to his service.

Cheers
Lee

when my oppo died there were loads of people at the funeral..

got me thinking... to the time i used to do it for a living...

the answers quite easy...

people!!!

we did one once where the deceased had no family or relatives...

we ( the undertakers) and the solicitor were the only ones there ...

it was quite sad really..

when i go ... just some one to say goodbye really..

A nudist funeral. It's hard to be sad when you're nekkid.

Sadly the key to a good turnout is to die young.
So I'd be happy with no mourners

Not to be on my own.

I have moved around a lot around the country (and I am only 33) and I can't see this stopping.

Therefore, all of my old "friends" would probably not be aware that I had passed away.

I would prefer a cremation to a burial, to be honest.

Have you set a date? Best to get it over with rather than dwelling on it for too long

A big shin dig in a barn with spitoons. And I want the following on my gravestone:

If you can read this, you're standing on my johnson!

As long as I get cremated, and don't end up as worm food, I'm not too bothered.

If at all possible, a cremation somewhere other than a crematorium. Those places are like conveyor belts for the dead.

Can I have the cast of Scoobynet at my funeral??

And on my tombstone I want the words, "Jesus! Is that the time already?"

Would your last request be to attach gold wheels to the coffin and have a picture of the Labour front bench on top?

How do you know they sew your dick up? Do you get a "what happens next" training course in the nursing home?

For someone to make a wisecrack remark at my expense and have those who've made it to the church laugh.
