sony ericson T610
Thinking of getting one, only problem is, if I get it from tesco ( ) it will be on the 'tesco moblie' network ( ) which will undoubtedly vape my street cred.
Will I be able to replace the sim with an orange or vodaphone card and make it work on either of these n/works?

It's a decent phone...I think some of them have a tendancy for the 'joystick' to stop working fully though i never had a problem with mine.
You might be able to stick another SIM without additional cost but at worst it's cost you £15 for the kit to unbrand/unlock it
Pros:
Excellent screen quality
Very good camera
Very good features - reminders, calander, JAVA games etc
small and light weight
Decent battery life
Cons:
Seems to dint get scratched easily (but I kept mine in pocket and kept dropping it!)
Joystick on some phones tempremental

I'd disagree about the decent screen and camera quality. The screen is useless in daylight and the camera is very grainy, so much so that I never use it. And all the silver has worn of the bottom of mine (lives in my pocket).
It's a decent phone, but not brilliant.

My T610 has just bust after 5 months, and as I bought it in London, and live in Oxfordshire, its going to be a pig to take back.
The samsung I had before that, went tthe same way, but at least lasted over a year.
Mobile phones are simple - buy a Nokia, they don't break.
