Mini roundabouts with red lane areas?
Anybody know the official designation of these or how you should take the lanes (apart from flat out and straight across )
I've heard of two types - red block paved lane nearest centre seperated from other lane by a slightly raised paving slab (e.g. on Scott Road, Selby)
Other type has a solid white line between red and normal lane and apparently plod has perched nearby and jumped on people using the red area as they've crossed the solid white line...
There's nothing in the Highway code about them and there's different examples across a couple of local councils round here so any info on these?
Pretty please as I'm taking my advanced driver's test in a few weeks and it's instant fail for road traffic offence on test so don't want to be caught out

The Selby one is on the entrance / exit to Somerfield's so I guessed it was for congestion alleviation (big words at this time ) for keeping traffic moving when the numpties block the road from the supermarket...
There's also one on Prospect Road, Bradford between Dudley Hill & Manchester Road.
Wonder if it's cars & small stuff supposed to keep to grey bit and wagons can cross red bit to get round "tighter" corners?
HB - are you stalking again? and as for your driving style - no comment
