Brilliant things. Got a Karcher in France 5 yrs ago when things were cheaper there. Can't remember model but about £95. Also bought in UK angled lance to do under cars. They're really great for keeping underneath of cars clean, patios, brickwork etc.

Cheap ones are OK but they are just that - cheap.

Alu heads don't last as long as brass heads. They tend to go manky over time and the unloader valve (if fitted) gets stuck.

If you look after them they should last but don't be surprised if it doesn't.

Used to repair washers for a few years.

I just drive down to the secret (well, remote and not very well advertised ) one that the taxi drivers in Leeds use. £1 is normally enough, maybe an extra 50p if it's particularly mucky, and it has lovely smelling frothy pink foam and piping hot water. I only use it from late oct to early april about every 2-3 weeks, so I can justify £10-15 a year and not worry about the thing breaking as it ain't my problem

Only thing to be careful of is to make sure you jetwash the brushhead before you start to get rid of any grit.

Had a Karcher which packed up a month or so ago after a few years. Brilliant machine!

However, I couldn't resist the special offer B&Q £22.98 jetwash. Its got a 1 year warranty, if it breaks after that, I'll throw it way!

Job done!

Bought a Karcher from B&Q blew up after 6 months took it back
"sorry sir we don't do that model and more" - so got an upgrade.
They only wanted the Karcher plate off the machine so I removed it for them.
I then took the machine to the local Karcher agent, I walk in, put the box on the counter and he say's " its the pressure valve, they are crap" £18 to replace.

So now I have two !!!!! and for some reason they are both round at my dads
