Wink Finding a car owner

Right here goes my gf lives in a flat with allocated parking,There is a peugeot
205 in her space that looks like it hasnt moved in a while (covered in dust).
Put note on it asking for owner to move etc
Accidently unlocked it ,to move it but steering lock on and has gearlock thing on it.Is there anyway to trace the owner from no plate .police not really a option as private car park.

No its not chavsville before anyone asked its a new estate ,with nice cars there, evo 8,sti 8 mercs etc

Report it to the police as a dumped/abandoned vehilce if there still not interested report it to your local council. Go on there web site and the a-z services and they will have an abandoned vehilces department, give them a call and they should action it fairly promptly, get the persons name you report the car to and try and get a reference number from them. They will usually place a sign on the car and leave for a period of between 1 and 2 weeks and then the car will be removed. Does the car have a valid tax disc if not report as above and ring DVLA too That should sort things out.

Otherwide borrow a trolley jack (two if possible and a few mates/neighbours and relocate the car down the road (find some double yellows if you can

Either ring the local pikey scrapyard and bung them some cash to remove it, or try and roll it out of the space and into the road, lock it back up and wait for the police to move it.

Could just roll it out but it will just go into someones elses space
A call to the council should do i think ,or move it right in the way,at least then
will probaly get to know who owns it

Can't you make an enquiry with the DVLA? IIRC they will give you vehicle ownership details provided that you have "good cause" to request them.

Speak to the management company who look after your flats. We had a similar problem at my nan's flat and the management company arranged for the dumped vehicles to be taken away.

I'm afraid if someone left it in my allocated space, I'd be out there with a bar & hacksaw, cutting off the gearlock thing, and snapping the steering lock. Then dump it at the local supermarket. Job done.

I had this problem but the car was taxed so I removed the tax disc then reported it dumped to the council, it was gone in 4 days
