Wife let herself go to pot after the kids came along.
Now divorced (for six years) and have a lovely girlfriend who looks after herself, and me!
So yes, sex is possible after children, but not necessarily with your own wife!!!

I can understand the temporary and permanent changes in a woman after she has given birth....but the question is: is the sex just as good prior to birth?

Women are very elastic and eventually return to pre-baby performance. I believe it is down to muscular activity rather than just size. I would say that my wife is no different than before even if she thinks she may be.
As for breast feeding, it is not often you can engage in sexual activity and have a nourishing meal all at the same time.
However, as you will find a baby is the best contraceptive known to man and woman and all of a sudden having the urge is no longer enough as the baby may have a different itinerary.
