Sony Minidisc
Bit of a thick question really but you know the hole on the side of sony minidiscs where it says - 'Line In (optical)'? Well i put the headphones in there by accident the other day and was wondering if this would have damaged it as the optical cable does go in there?

allows you to record a line level signal (CD etc) - the optical is a digital input. Again, from the optical output of say, a CD player. No damage to be worried about

nope
you can use headphones as a microphone of sorts..... (similar workings).. although i wouldnt recommend this.
Wont do any damage at all- it is both a line level and an optical input.
