Default "Comet" - most impressed

I have to say, most impressed with Comet.

Ordered Washing machine on Friday, stock information on web site, specified delivery date and time window. Driver phones me today (within the time slot), we will be with you in 5 to 10 mins, is that OK?

They took the old broken one away.

All connected and working. I seem to be more impressed with it more than the GF! And I don't even use it, now or in future! Its a lot quieter then the old one. Apparently you can do "handwash only" items, press a button to "reduce ironing", again, neither directly affect me!

Early xmas present for the GF

Bosch WFO2866 if anyone is interested.

Thumbs up

OK, I'll come clean.......: I bought an AEG dishwasher from them in September, same experience exactly.

Also got it for £350 against store price of £499, and cheapest price comparison site price of £425.

Excellent.

We got the same washing machine and equivalent Bosch Dishwasher after recommendations on here and from my parents. Bought from Co-op online as cheapest I could find (well and from a name I trusted).

Simon.

P.S. love the funky digital "time remaining" counter

good to hear

however, it's a sad sad state of affairs when you're "most impressed" with a company that have just done what you paid them for!! it means expectations must be low. it should be the de facto STANDARD that we have good service. sadly, we dont

I kitted my house out with them last year, to be fair they were pretty good then.

However, I looked at a phone on the website, decided I liked it but thought I'd like to handle it first...

Me: Do you have X phone in a twin pack?
Comet bint: I'm not sure, I'll check on the system.
Me: OK, will it be the same price as online?
CB: Oh no, it'll be more expensive, we have overheads blahblabablah...
Me: Oh right, I'll just buy it online then eh?
CB: Yeah, that's what I'd do!
Me: Right, see you then!

In the end, Argos dropped their price so we got the same phone from there instead

Completely agree. Part of the price we pay is for good service. I remember watching something on Watchdog about leading retailers and there poor delivery service / time's. Thought that Comet have shown themselves to be professional, long may it continue.

I don't agree that the pricing should be the same online and offline. It's a different business model and they need to be able to compete with the other only online electrical merchants, who do not have the overheads of stores etc. Having said that it is a pain in the back side when you can get it online cheaper and not be able to pick it up instore. But if you want to make the saving in money then you need to wait...!

Buck, I understand online stores being cheaper, I can see that but competition within the same company, that's just daft! They'll end up with no stores...hmm
