I always loved the irony of the protest being organised by farmers and lorry drivers...


1) Farmers get untaxed diesel for their farm equipment.

2) Lorries cost the country more than they raise in revenue (on average they raise £24k, but cost £26k per year each in damage to roads, crashes etc).


Far play? I'm all for it - less subsidies for them and more for me.

As for a drop in duty - fat chance.

Yup and that's cos they had a revolution which has meant that all French govs. have remembered that.

That's exactly the point. I like you, I suspect, can remember how the students and workers nearly brought down the French gov. in the 60s. Your political stance, left or right, doesn't matter in this country. The Establishment carries on regardless.
