Default Sheffield To Oxford

Travelling down to Oxford today...M1, M42, M40...

Any hidden 'safety' camera's to look out for around Oxford (or the Motorways?) Obvisouly I intend to stick to the Speed limit all the way but don't want to be caught out on roads I don't know....you know when a road goes from 70 to 30 with a camera about 2 yards into the 30 zone

Cheers
J

Edit: I'll be in a scooby (in case any mods move it to non-scooby section )

M42 roadworks at the M6 interchange have speed cameras damn' near everywhere, so be careful there (mind you I've not been down there for a month, are the roadworks still there?)

M40 is busy with speed cops on it - Warwick services have had them on the exit slip road southbound a few times.

Plus I *think* it is junction 12 where they sit on the exit skip road as well.

Ummm.... A34 has this funky 50 limit you have to watch out for and there are speed sensors that flash up a warning sign.

Should be a good start... M40 is a good road to cruise on... I tend to get overtaken alot when I'm sat at 85

Yo guys i live in ox and there aint too much to worry about. The 50 limit is fine w/no cams. Just as you come into it from m40 end tho watch out on the bridges, thats where the cops will sit with their guns! No cams on the 34 tho! M40 is ok 2 i drive up and down it pretty reg, but as the previous thread say watch out for cops at the side of the road-only ever seen them n/bound tho! Have fun and good luck

Got stuck in M42 roadworks coming back Grrr...however, on a positive note, it meant I got 170 miles out of half a tank

Didn;t see any police about and my Tom Tom warned me of a few favourtie mobile locations and the fixed points.

Lots of people doing between 90-100 on m40 at a constant pace!

Wouldn't have come that way myself. A34, M40, A43, M1 has done me proud Southampton - Pontefract for well over a year, every weekend. Tried other routes but it's consistently the fastest. Though there is one camera n/bound and 2 s/bound on A43, well signed though in 70mph limit.

Yes, Thats the wau I intended coming back but

a) Didn't listen to the instructions people gave me
and
b) After finding Optimax station, when using TomTom sat Nav, kept sending me across the M69 (the way we came down) and wouldn't plot a route using the above!
