Default Paypal

Hi Everybody!

I must have my stupid head on today.

I was just trying to become a plus member and use my paypal account to buy a years subscription. But the damn thing wont let me do it (the paypal end).

I have used paypal several times over the last few years for bigger payments than 25 quid but not recently.

Has their policy changed?

Is the only way to use it now to give my bank details instead of just using my credit card?

I have no intention of placing my bank details in the hands of a foreign company when I can buy stuff from everywhere else with my credit card.

Am I being stupid or has paypal changed?

Cheers

Can't help you with the Q but you might feel a little safer giving over your bank details as PayPal now operate as a full UK operation and are regulated by the FSA.

"PayPal (Europe) Ltd. is regulated by the Financial Services Authority in the United Kingdom as an electronic money institution.
PayPal FSA Register Number: 226056."

Never had a problem with PayPal plus if they were to use your details - you can trace it and get chargebacks anyway

This is a pity.

I have been a Scoobynet regular for quite a few years and wanted to give something back for the great service provided but my bank details are not negotiable. Too bad.

Thanks for the advice anyway.

Cheers

But everytime you give someone a cheque, for example, you are giving out your bank details?

Awwwwwww bless his sincerity, you're right, without Paypal the whole money transaction system stops and nobody, no matter how much you want to pay them, can get paid.
