What age do driving bans starts from
Just watched Traffic cops program on BBC1, at the end of the program it said that som lads who had stole a car were banned for 12 months.
But some of them were only 14
So when does the ban apply fom when they become 17 and can drive legally.
Seems a bit daft banning somone from driving iff they are only 14 so cant drive legally anyway

they aren't banned until they actually pass the test - They can be an accompanied L driver, do the test, the ban kicks in immediately. They wait a year and start from scratch with the CBT, written test etc

Unfortunatly that ban won't make any difference to that kid because I very much doubt he'll bother learning to drive or taking a test. He'll just steal more cars and continue to drive illegally, won't make any difference to him whether hes banned for 1 year or life.
Sad state of affairs!

When I was a student I remember a local lad, a neighbour, who didn't have a license but who had been banned. He had no intention of taking his test as he would then immediately lose his license, but he said he needed his car to get to work so therefore he would continue driving. No tax, no insurance, no license..... it's because of these idiots that we should all have full comp insurance!
