I know I shouldn't ask, but......
I've joined a dating web site, and I spend an hour or so each evening browsing the ads, and while I'm there I may chat to a young lady every now and then, I also send quite a few mails to those that take my fancy, now I don't look like the back of a bus or anything, but I don't seem to get many replies to my mails, and I'm wondering why, it's not like I attach a pic of me wondering around with me bits out or anything, so why don't I get replies??

Probably because any internet dating site will have 37,353,628 males with accounts and 4 female accounts, 3 of which were created by the same girl before her school installed filtering software and the other one belongs to a hairy transvestite called Hank.
Rumour has is that there was once a 5th account belonging to a genuine available attractive female but her ISP make her cancel it because they can not afford another Sendmail cluster until the next financial year.

As some know, I dabble with the internet dating thing, and it's just luck of the draw really, sometimes you'll get a reply, other times, you won't. Just be honest with your profile, and don't expect anything, and then when something does come along, you'll be suprised and not dissapointed.
I've not met any "Hanks" (yet, and bloody hope I never do), and must say that the girls I have met, and dated, are all rather normal girls (if any girl is actually normal
lol) so they are out there, and you can find them.
Yeah, a few people look at me in an odd way when I mention I do net dating (don't do speed dating, I tend to draw the line there) but hey, it has and is working for me, and if it increases your chance of meeting a nice lass, I see no problem at all. Plus it can be totally annoymous, so if you chat to some girl and find she's a bloke, or a nutbar, then you can just end it then and there, not like she's going to stalk you is it?
Well, not unless she's a geek girl and traces your IP address, contacts your ISP and gets your address lol

A slightly more serious reply: I dated a few women from the internet and my experience ranged from married housewife (that was okay), a young girl who mentioned that she needed to kill her parents because they were so bad to her and a pretty American girl who invited me in after the first date and took me down to her basement where there was a fully fledged dungeon.

Sorry, for all those under 30 thats rather alien - but in my day it was simply show your face (NOT your tackle!! ) and try to pull. Sometimes you got lucky more than often you didn't

20 years ago I came to the conclusion that a pint of beer was much less bother than sex - more satisfying too!! when you get to 56 (my 20 years ago) you will know what I mean!

I had an ex who was into the lifestyle I was into (S/M etc) and still refuses to accept it has eneded. Stalks the current GF, from holland of all places. !
Prior to that, met some woman who was the most compulsive liar I have ever met. Lets just say the truth lived on another planet.
Prior to that one, I flew from London to San Jose, California to meet some woman whom was slightly strange and I stayed for a month before she wierded me out tooo much !
All im saying is be careful

Met my wife on the internet! Met quite a few people though AOL chatrooms and instant messages, some more acceptable than others. No real horror stories, my horror date came from telephone dating!
AOL dates lead to a couple of serious relationships, quite a few one nighters and several good friendships.
Whilst I agree in years gone by you'd go out, these days it is not that simple, as thoughs you'd like to meet are indoors on the net!
