I see today that the Gov is backtracking on its proposed gambling bill.

Against it myself as I think it'll draw in those that have the least money to gamble away as is the case with the lottery.

Do you think we should have Las Vegas type casinos over here in the future.

I wonder whether B.Liar and his cabinet will ever declare how many backhanders, er, what sort of jollies, er, discussions took place with the mega-corporate gambling companies of the USofA????

I bet if they banned any foreign-backed (i.e. US) ventures, the whole thing would fall apart at the first hurdle.

I think places like Blackpool need some parts of the proposed gambling bill to bring in fresh investment and new ideas. As a resort Blackpool appears to be going downhill, and IMO it's only going to get worse without a major change.

The town at the moment is too based on the way things were done in the past. Reinventing itself as a Las Vegas style resort wouldn't be a bad thing.
