Pretty good show, loved the Hercules bit, shame they've done the beach thing before though.

Makes 5th Gear look rubbish

I thinks its fair to say that, even from the preview clip, it was obvious that the ice cream van was going nowhere!

Stop moaning, its great, remember Top Gear in the eighies, William Woolard showing us all the different baby seats before Tony (the little Mole type one) whasit treated us to 15 minutes of drivel about 1920's Steam Lorries or some such ****, there was a review of the Austin Ambassador and if you were lucky a 30 second item about omething you may be interested in.

And Chris Goffey would test drive the new Maestro Vanden Plas with talking computer. The 80's were cool.

Ahhh, Chris Goffey.

The only man that could get excited when Vauxhall released a diesel version of the MK2 Astra

Those were the days when 60:40 split folding rear seats were a big selling point! Has anyone ever actually folded only one side of their assymetrically split seats?

Chris Goffey used to tie his V neck sweater round his neck, Ken Barlow style. In fact he still does.

Little fat bloke Mason doing the rally report.

Goffey driving something crap while wearing a horrible pullover

Clarkson not so full of himself and wearing the blazer/jeans combo while doing a review of something expensive

Token female driving a supermini and commenting on it's practicality while all the male viewers switch off mentally

Nedell taking to the track and being restrained while he tries to hone his almost non-existent presenting skills

Classic theme tune.

Kind of makes me yearn for the bad old days.

Thats exactly what I said. What a complete waste of time showing cars on a beach?! There's just no point at all. They even did a drag with the 3 cars...why?? Just an excuse to do endless donuts and get some arty filming. Would be much better/interesting to see the cars on the track or even on a road.....with tarmac! Hardly a test for 300-400 bhp cars on a beach.
