It takes around a box of twenty 500 mg tablets in twenty four hours to harm/or destroy the liver of an adult. Dunno about death but I'm sure that could be the next symtom.

4g daily max recommended for an adult according to the packet. Greater than 10g for a fatality, or damage to your liver and kidneys, if untreated.
Edited to add: I know two people who tried, and failed, to top themselves using paracetamol. Its such a slow (and probably unpleasant in the latter stages) process that both chickened out and sought treatment before any long term damage was done!

Hmmm interesting.
Only reason I started this was I opened my drawer and saw a packet of lemsips and wondered if you could die by having too many.
Well, the satchets are 650mg so 15+ satchets take into dangerous levels. A lot closer than I thought! I imagined it would be a bucketful.

Taking paracetamol with alcohol exacerbates the problem apparently, speeding up liver damage.
A mate's bro in law took a paracetamol overdose and spent 2 years on life support b4 they switched it off.
Co proxamol (distalgesic) are dangerous if you take many more than 8 in a day

Don't do it -- it's a horrible way to die. Basically you tend to survive the overdose, but it has already messed up your liver and you tend to die slowly and not pleasantly over the proceeding weeks.
Much better to take a warm bath and cut down the vein (not across).
Steve.

Its not very dignified even if you seek treatment immediately. They will force feed you a load of ground up activated charcoal suspended in water to try and absorb the drug and you'll end up spewing up black water everywhere!

Completely subjective to the individual taking the parcetamol.
Activated charcoal is only beneficial if taken a short period following an overdose, bloods will be checked for paracetamol and salicylates following 4 hours of ingestion.
Even then the level may not require treatment.
Most people believe that if they take enough paracetamol they don't wake up but this is not the case its a slow painful and horrible way to die

If i were to do it. It would be with a chain or rope and a car and a tree.
Tie the rope around a tree, through the back window of my car and round my neck. Seat belt on and hit first gear...... Gone.
I would use my company car not my own ;-)
Not that im thinking of doing it at all, but thats the way for me
