Default to wave or not to

might be at the wrong place

just wanna know when you are driving around do you wave to EVERY scooby driver.

i don't because NOT everyone knows what you're doing or think you've mistaken them for someone else.

i wait until they wave first,.

i would like scoobynet to produce small winscreen stickers
possibly envelope size
with the scoobynet logo and instead of "scoobynet" text we can have our username on

that way we can see if they are someone we can wave to and we know who

obviously 99% of you are to disagree and say its stupid

I generally wave - 99% of the time its returned - although I'm sure sometimes they think I must be Mr. X from the Church Choir (sp?)

I wave at scooby drivers, and I drive and evo....most wave back. Some pretend not to have seen me.

Waving at some noddy cos he has the same common car as you is not cool.

It's the mark of an internet geek who's only friends are people they are unlikely to meet except maybe at the local McDonalds drive thru whilst doing a "who's bass is the loudest test".

Wave to family, real friends and maybe wave to kids when they wave and pull faces at you out the back window of Land Rovers.

It's gay all this waving mallarky. I don't "wave" like a spak to other Porsche owners.

LOL - is there a porsche community of any kind to think of? Boxter Shoot outs? 944 NBO's? 911 meets at the local pub?

LOL, no... my point is the 'typical' 1.6 Impreza owner is probably not a car enthusiast and doesn't know the diffrence between their car and a mondeo!

Flame suit at the ready!

im new to this site , but im interested in the wave/dont wave question...i own a Honda CBR 600 and its common place for riders, especially sportsbike riders to nod or wave (depending how fast were going) to other riders (not scooters!!!)...ive just got my scooby after driving a Celica GT4 and within days of driving it i was waved to by a couple of other scooby drivers...its not gay or geeky, its just an acknowledgement to a fellow enthusiast, as i would say that most other WRX/STi drivers probably are...no offence but i wouldnt wave to a GL driver as its probably a famlily car bought on the strength of a What Car? article, and not a love for turbcharged, 4WD jap performance cars...mr & mrs smith in matching leathers on a 10 year old tourer never wave to an R1 rider...!!!

There should be a set of rules given to each buyer as standard and to wave at other owners should be rule no.1. This way everyone would know and I would not look silly when my wave is ignored. Tends to be the classic owners who return the wave, newage owners just dont seem to understand (apologies to those which do though!! )

I always wave. Haven't had a single wave back though, presumably because I'm in a Legacy.
I'm begining to give up waving at other Legacy's though as they're nearly being driven by someone so old they probably dont have the eyesight to even see my wave. I'd wave if I ever saw another B4 or a GTB though.

I'm currently in a Justy courtesy car from Scooby Clinic though, I wonder if I'll get more waves in that?

thats so true
when i first had my scoob others were waving and i thought did they mistake me for someone they know, it took me i think the 5th or 6th to realise

i saw once a tvr was speeding on the m1,
there was another tvr on the middle lane, the speeding one slowed down, got next to it and waved then sped off.

that i think is silly

LOL. Some people do need to get out and practise their social skills a bit more.

I learnt about the whole waving thing when I used to drive an ex-gf's VW Variant. These air-cooled VW people are even more fanatical about waving than Scooby drivers. Every single Beetle, Variant, Camper or Karmann Ghia driver would wave at a minimum, many winding down their window and giving a VW sign.

Therefore, waving at other Scoobs was easy to get used to. I waved to every Scoob and I don't care if that makes me a sad barsteward - my gf certainly thinks I am one for waving. It was particularly satisfying to see a non-Impreza Turbo owner wave back with a huge smile, seemingly chuffed to bits a WRX driver had waved at them.

@

@ brihoppy. Very good point. I drove bike for years and always got and gave nods. Also do you notice if your parked or broken down at the side of a road bikers will ALWAYS stop and see if your ok or need help. I think thats great. Not much chance of a car driver doing that. I wouldent even do it in my car. Suppose if it was another scooby I MIGHT.

I wave (and then the missus reminds me I'm not in the TVR and that there are millions of Scoobys - most built without Northern sweat on their bushes). No harm in cameraderie though - especially in this day and age!!!
