One next to sadlers wells theatre
A big Thai restaurant just off Trafalgar Sq. eaten there recently
Another one off a side road at covent garden
lots of tasty ones on the island of Phi Phi unfortunately they are south of the thames (slightly) but worth the journey

The Blue Elephant in Fulham is excellent...but calling it North London is a stretch LOL (just north of the thames)
Busaba Eathai on Wardour street(near soho) is pretty much universally aclaimed as the best Thai in London...unless you are a Michelin Star man(service and 'poshness'), in which case Nahm in Belgravia will float your boat....very expensive though

A warning about it though...it's not a place to go for a long romantic meal...they sit you down and serve you pretty quickly...great food, but if you want a lavish night out then go elsewhere.

Chuck beat me to it. Busaba Eathai is a bit like a Wagamama how you sit around big tables next to people you don't know and the service is very quick so you are in and out.

Food is very good although expect to queue (often looks worse than it is) as I don't think you can book.

Mmmm maybe I'll go there for lunch

LOL searched busaba eatthai on google and it brought up the above web site, dead handy.

Its now a toss up between Busaba or Popeyes in Hammersmith (steak) or Sarastro in Covent Carden, we haven't been there since we got engaged, if you've never been it's a mad place, never quite been to another restaurant like it the balconys are amazing very medieval, there are a few photo's on the web site

Cheers

Best Thai restaurant without a doubt is Nahm, the only Michelin starred Thai restaurant in Europe.

Busaba eathai is OK, but not very authentic atmosphere with Western waiters. (personal gripe, don't like europeans serving in Chines, Indian, Thai restaurants etc)

Sri Thai in Old Compton St, or Thai Square are both excellent too.
