Whilst I dont have a religious or deity deferential bone in my body, I also realise I am in the minority in this world (and gangs mean power and then add religion..WOW!)!

So if I had to choose a creed or religion [and lest face it Catholicism, Islam and Christianity are all quite pants - particularly Islam and its bloodthirsty & backward/negative/zero humour seeming PR problem] I would choose Judaism (or possibly Budhism, but I dont really like the orange dressing gowns & I kill spiders...). I dont have the schnozzle, capote or real business contacts, but after knowing so many Jewish mates and then watching C4's 'Jewish Law' I think they are generally sharp, approachable, humourous, clever & fab!

ANY deep rooted and seriously historical & spiritual religion that can have one day a year (a 'mitzvah' - a 'commandment') where it is compulsory to dress up funny and get drunk (in celebration of their survival and their future optimism), to me, shows a huge joie de vivre and could teach ALL the other miserable, downbeat, agressive, confrontational religions a trick or two. They also know what the words community and charity mean to a level the rest of us may not.

The unfair fight over land in the ME is a thing I castigate the Israelis for, but I think Judaism itself may well be the best presentation of a religion as a way of life that I have ever seen (not that I need or believe in any religion - individuals should be good individually in my book, and then they die...)

You can convert but I think different factions do or don't accept it.
