Default Time to drive to Frankfurt, Germany

How long does it take to drive from the UK (say, start at Cheriton terminal) to Frankfurt and vice versa. How susceptible is it to time of day?

Basically trying to compare the time/cost of flying/trains/car of travelling to Frankfurt on a Sunday night or V early monday morning and returning on a Friday night.

Anyone?

me and my mate drove to the WRC rally which was based in Trier, fairly close to frankfurt. took about 6-7 hours to drive on the way (From sussex - including the chunnel crossing) and then about 5 on the way back - thats sticking to the various limits in the various countries, and doing no more than 140kph on the autobahns...

It took us about 5 hours to drive from Calais to the WRC in Trier including stops for fuel and lunch. Pretty much the same as tucker really

We set off from the French end of the chunnel at about 10.30am local time.

Not driven to Frankfurt but did Caen (ferry from Portsmouth) to Munich last week and it took about 9 hours.

All I'd say is it's fairly hard work and if there is a cheap flight with somebody like Sleazy-Jet, take that !

Thumbs up

Calais to Frankfurt will take 5-6 hours, best to head for Aachen from Brussels and then A4 and then A3 as most of its unrestricted.
