Setting up(trying to) a basic Sharp home cinema/DVD package, cant play the TV through the surround sound speakers on the AUX setting , DVD and the Tuner are fine .
Its just your average cheapo package set up ,didn't realise I was gonna spend all day p*ssing about with it.................using Scart cables bye the bye!
cheers for any guidance

Are you getting your TV from a cable box, satelite box or from an aerial?

I've got a TOshiba home theatre kit, and funnily enough a toshiba WS TV.

I had to use the red & white jacks to connect a port on the back of the tv to the AUX port of the theatre kit. The port on the back of the TV says something like permanent output.

Yeah, all those fecking cables are a pain in the ***!

As urban said you should be able to run the sound from your TV using the red and white outputs if you have them. If not does the SKY box have them and if so use those, probably best to use those anyway to be honest.

As a side note I don;t know if the SKY boxes do this but have you made sure it's outputing stereo? You should be able to go into the on screen display for SKY and check the audio settings.
