Best place for digital printing?
Hi all,
Since buying the pslewis recommended (that is intended as humour ) Canon 300D a few weeks back, I now have a couple of shots and panaramas that I would like printing at a decent (30x20) size. So... I'm just looking for recomendations on places to get this done. I hear some good things about www.photobox.co.uk but would like to hear where Scoobynetters are gettings prints done. Do you prefer to use online printers or nip down to Jessops? (Although I dont think Jessops do bigger than A3?) 6x4 to A4 are not a problem as I have a Epson Stylus Photo 915 which when printed on decent paper is almost as good as what comes from a lab.
Please dont turn this into a rant about why I didn't get a D70 or some other tosh, all I want is to get some decent prints from my camera.
Cheers,
paul.

I have heard (but not yet used) that SnappySnaps are doing some good work on the more unusual printing (posters, canvas etc).
I've got a couple of things I was going to get them to do when the projects are finished.
(OK, when I can be @rsed.... )

Why didn't you get a D70?? (that is intended as humour )
I haven't a clue as to your question - why not e-mail them into your place of work and get the print room to run off a poster?

I send regular packets of photos of their grandson to my parents in England using photobox upload and print. The pics always turn up the next day and my folks are delighted by the quality of the images,

Thank for the replies so far guys!!
Pete, at work we dont have a print room, we have a number of Ricoh colour photocopier/printer dotted around. The quality of them is v poor, as they are nothing more than a 3 colout laser printer, although they do one lad for printing out his DVD covers . I'm looking for more 'professional' quality than what I would get from the work printers.
cheers,
paul.

£20,000 printer ? Bet that is a bit crap then.
I've had no problem with PhotoBox nor with Jessops. But the majority of my printing is at home.
Cheers

Crap??? Hmmmmmm, well it will produce an A0 size quality print ... off a 300D at least. The D70 could struggle to capture an image capable of being blown up so much.

I use boots for regular 6x4s as they're very cheap (10p each if you do a load at a time), but for larger prints I've always used snappy snaps as the quality on enlargements is at least as good as some of the portrait work we've had done of the kids. I've not gone up to the 30x20 you're after (biggest to date was about 16x12 I think), but they do have some monster equipment in the branch I use!
