I'd assume you'd need your drivers license to sign in.

Not sure about your licence but you will need a helmet (they usually have a spare one they can lend out). Scrutineering,s basicaly to make sure the cars safe, not just a quick lash up out of box section with a Beetle engine strapped on (you'd be suprised what some people take there!) Once through scrutineering, go to the tower to get your race number and put this on your nsr window (shoe whitener usually). Then just que up in the `fire-up lane` ready to race. May see you there, if you need running through anything I`ll try and help. What car/colour are you racing?

Car needs to be roadworthy, you need your licence and a helmet(if you don't want to wear their smelly ones).
Rules are:
As you pull up to the staging lights, there are 2 lines on the strip. As you cross the first one,you break a light beam and activate the first white stage light above the traffic light style ones. You then creep forwards oabout 18" to the second line on the strip you break the 2nd light beam and you are ready to race. When the car in the other lane has done the same(you can see their stagign lights too)then watch the traffic lights. They generally change from amber to green very quickly. It doesn't usually matter about being the first to set off as it's your time that counts not whoever is first past the line.
Don't cross into the other lane and don't jump the lights or you'll false start.Keep your foot down until over the last timing beam 1/4 mile from start(obviously)and be ready to brake as you'll have to turn right down a track past the farm.Keep an eye on the car in the other lane and give way if need be as they'll be turning in too.

I'll be in a white 96 WRX but don't think I'll be racing as I don't know how long I can stay. (Might change my mind once I get there though!)

Hmm, it's usually the V8 Hemi's that get me started. Still hanker for an old Yank muscle car even now.

All part of the fun. My first time down was in a shortie mini that me and a mate built. Got slowest of the day but the crowd loved it! Mega fun.
