Despite the 'brought it on himself' idea, and there is definitely a truth to that, it's still outrageous that anyone can take a life like that.
Feel especially sorry for his wife as I'm sure she'll now be abandoned by the rest of the family living back in Britain.
Hope someone learns something from it all.

Oh ****
Tony SHOULD have backed down IMO. Total ****. Now that poor man has been killed.
Just makes you realise how lucky you really are. Can't help but weep. I tried not to watch the footage of him pleading for his life, it all seemed a bit surreal and didn't really set in what was happening - until now.

Still unconfirmed at present. They released a report saying the 2 Italian women had been killed, but obviously that proved to be untrue. Be sad if it is however.

http://uk.news.yahoo.com/041008/325/f46f8.html is the only place I can find it.
As for Tony being a c*nt, that is such a poor viewpoint to take! Hostage taking will jump markedly if anyone gives in to these people.

He went off to most dangerous part of the world to work. It's not like they grabbed him whilst popping down to Tescos for a pint of milk is it?
If he couldn't face the ultimate risk, he shouldn't have gone.

rubbish - I could get run over by a bus on the way to the shops but I still go. It was his risk and reward.

Hmm shocking.
He had a 23 yr old Thi wife, lived there, he lived damn close to where saddams cronies lived, he was making 20k a month, if he had of been released he would have sold his story to the press to made 1000,000$, likely, I have no sympathy, he should have died with honor like the yanks did.

Lets wait and see, it could just be them getting themselves in the headlines again.
The last couple of days have seemed very positive so it seems odd he has now been murdered.

Yes i agree that Iraq & surrounding area's are dangerous & you take a risk !
But this was a life, the same as you & me
His last few words were broadcasted across the world for all to see, yet with the resources that both countrys have (US & Here), we couldnt even try to save him, they werent interested
Thats the disgrace !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My thoughts go out to his family & friends

I'm surprised they didn't do it sooner. It was the obvious way to achieve their aims -- cause a public outcry in the UK, hopefully Labour won't get voted in in the next general election then a new government's in place which is more likely to initiate a pull out from Iraq. I know that the Tories supported the war in the first place, but they could spin it as an "out with the old, in with the new" thing.
Of course, the assumes the Iraqi terrorists have a handle on British politics.
