Here Comes the Sunburst Band
Went to bestbuy to nab a few DVD's (Sunshine of the Eternal Spotless Mind, and, of course, the StarWars Trillogy on DVD).
I was also looking for the Shaun of the Dead soundtrack, and was not suprised in the least that I could not find it. Also wanted to see if there were any decent Madchester CD's around (Happy Mondays and such like) nope, none there.
Anyway, popped over to HMV in the mall, and as I walked in my ears were treated to some really rather fine jazz/funk/soul affair. I went looking for my CD's and was toe-tapping, as is their want, a sales chappy asked if he could help me. I pointed skyward and said "My good man, please inform me as to what this excellent music is that my ears are orgasming over" (ok, I said "mate, what is this, it's great").
The chap informed me that it was "Here Comes the Sunburst Band" (ok, Joey Negro Presents Here Comes The Sunburst Band, for the pedants out there). He was a righteous dude, as he said it was way overpriced (as it was an import from the UK) so he did me a little deal on it.
Fantastic CD, so very very me. If you like 70's / 80's funk/soul/jazz (acid jazz really) then check this CD out.
They have another one, which I'm going to snaffle when I'm over at xmas.
Chilling sounds, for a chilling time, I *love* it!

Top stuff
its house music really- Got loads of it and some of it is in my box still
'Fly away' is my personal favourite, and having the acapella on the 12 makes it useful too
edit to add: you would never hear that in HMV over here!

Was suprised to hear it in HMV over here actually. Gotta love it though. As said, it's really my sort of music. Got any recommendations for similar stuff?
