they also stop cable broadband from working too , so youd need to remove it if you needed to use the net.
or look at it the other way youd need to put it on if you wanted to watch something that was pay per view

My cable broadband doesn't go through my cable box under the tv but from the box outside my house. Would it still stop the internet signal?

looks like it blocks the upstream link. So theorectically it's the same as unplugging your telephone line on your sky box. Which explains why it messes up internet (through the box), teletext, and interactive.
I'm guessing but like sky - I bet there is a credit limit set within your receiver that will only allow a certain amount of pay per view to be watched before it will stop working. I could be wrong though!
