How did you get on.
I can't be the only one interested in finding out how the "ScoobyPool" works in reality. Want to hear how good advice helped you out (and perhaps more interested to find out how bad advice didn't ).

There's a thread on here letting us know that "Withnail and I" DVDs are £1.99 at Smiths.
I'm taking the advice and buying it

Not neccesarily just the personal stuff (although it's likely to be the more interesting) - the key word is advice.
Yeah - Your Import is good to 650bhp - Ooops forgot to mention this other piece of vital info to prevent that loud bang.
I would hope the technical "errors" would be less than the personal ones

Went to a local meet and made several very good friends.
Moved to L&V insurance after reading about it here (never seen of heard of it before). Allowed me to mod my scoob for no more money and have lots more fun.

someone recommended Birbek for wooden flooring,it was exactly what i was looking for.
you have to remember though scoobynet is not very represntative of the country as a whole.they are better paid, more right wing, and younger.

yes the most recent of which (iirc) was when i asked about conveyencing recommendations a few months ago. someone recommended an online one that was a good few 100 cheaper than local solicitors, and they got the job done (and no slower than any other solicitor!). so that worked out well and saved me some money (which i gave to charity for good karma).
im pretty sure ive also used technical scooby-related information from this site too to fix/diagnose my car when there's been problems. plus have bought things like tyres etc based on recommendations.
i will also be visiting those places in london that were recommended to me a few weeks back on here, when my friends come over for the tourist thing.
also, i know that a lot of people take the advice on gym threads... and many of them who have taken the advice i have kept in contact with and they're having great results.
there's always heaps of **** you can learn on sn, especially nsr.

The trick of course, is to recognise the good advice and to be able to distinguish between that and the endless boIIocks posted by know-it-all gobsh!tes (which has started to **** me off; can you tell?).

big thumbs up to all the advice given to me on here, must have saved me a fortune!
i'm one of these dip**** people who ask all the stoopid questions that have been asked many times before, but nearly always get a very good number of replies that answer everything.
insurance, best suppliers of blah, blah etc. it's all here

Have I acted on advice from SN?
For tech stuff, as in car, computer:
Yes, of course. SN is a great tech resource, not only for cars but other stuff, computing, A/V, things like that
For "personal" stuff:
Acted on? Sort of, Listened too, made up my own mind, and then gone ahead. Yes. An example? Well, A few years ago I mentioned internet dating, and asked if anyone had done it, why, what were good sites, etc... Apart from the usual, and expected "you sad bastid!" comments, I did get some good advice, and did heed it, and went for it.
Oh and this was all done using this account and non some alais. If I want to discuss personal stuff, I'll do it as me, not as an alais (not having a go at people who use alaises for this purpose, can totally understand it), simply as that is me, I don't hide behind things, plus it makes it easier for people to laugh at me lol
