Building/fire regulations
Hi, could somebody please direct me towards a website that tells me if rented accomodation should have a smoke detector on each floor, and also a window on each floor that can be climbed out of in the event of a fire. Somebody has told me that they think this might be the case, but the aren't sure, as it means that the house I'm living in this year doesn't comply with regulations.

Unless it's a converted house, there doesn't appear to be many regs....

..but theres a million regs if you want to convert a house into 2 flats, lots of the new ones makes it financially unviable, yet theres a housing shortage round here.
