A question re: cheques
Ok, Just sold something. They paid part cash part cheque (long story) Now the cheque is a counter Cheque. How long does it take to clear ?

if crossed.. probably not.
you would probably need a letter of authorisation from the issuer, but in reality
they will want the cheque to clear before issuing funds

Pay it in This avo / Monday morning and its cleared on the Friday. You can pay something over a tenner to be allowed access to the funds the next day. "Express clearance" or something.
Its been 6 years since I worked for Shatwest so the terms are a bit rusty!
