Calling the scoobynet quacks
I keep getting these bites on my left leg, just above my ankle. When I say keep, I had 3-4 in one area a couple of weeks ago and now have one just below my calf.
It's about an inch and a half across, with a big oozy head(pencil head size) that weeps a lot, no blood. It's also very red and the red area is swollen underneath the skin and is hard to the touch.
The ones before took about 10 days to clear up, but **** me its bloody itchy. I don't know whether it is psychological but it makes my whole lower leg feel itchy.
I've taken Piriton, but that doesn't seem to touch it, savlon helps with the itching but that soon wears off.
I am assuming something is biting me when I cut the lawn, as I do that at the weekend and these things seem to appear after that. I must be particularly sensitive to whatever it is. When I run the mower through I alsways see a load of midgies vacate the ground.
We don't have pets so ruling out anything in the house, and besides wife and kids not having a problem. And we have a clean house
Any ideas what it could be, what I can take to alleviate the itch and finally, anyone want a pic?

Sounds like you've been bitten by a cleg.... (providing you get them down in your neck of the woods)
Don't scratch it and put Savlon or something on it to stop infection
