Question How to remove cigarette smell from the air conditioning?

My brother just bought a car which although immaculate had a smoker as the previous driver.

When the air con is turned on the smell is awful. He is tried changing the filter, many of the automotive sprays and Neutradol, but nothing works.

The car is a 1999 BMW 5 series. Any ideas?

Thanks

Alan

Got some stuff from Hafords that you start spraying in the car with the aircon on on recirc with engine running. Lasts about 10 mins. All explained on the cans instructions. I had the old socks smell from bacteria in the aircon on a BMW 328. This worked a treat. About a tenner a can.
Worth a try.
