Omega Speedmaster Issue
Yoza (Watchmeister) kindly replied to a PM about this but with a little more detail I thought I’d try a general trawl in case someone of a more legal bent could help.
Bought my Watch just over two years ago. It stopped some 15 months later and was fixed free citing ‘lack of lubrication’. This took a good 6 weeks and came with a 1 year gurantee. A few months later the face steamed up after water got in as I gently washed it to remove some crud.
I’ve taken it back but for repair, but want to know if I can now refuse it. I’ve been advised that this water ingress could effectively damage the watch internally and therefore I could refuse it on the grounds that it’s ‘not fit for purpose’ etc.
Can I hold this stance and demand a new one? It was under warranty after the repair and is obviously down to a dodgy seal etc..
Anyone else have problems with their Omega?
I’m going to push for a Breitling B1 if I can support my case with some good info from here as I’m a bit disillusioned with Omega.

Alan, it's a Speedmaster - are these claimed to be water resistant in any way? ISTR not, it was only the Seamaster that is. In which case you could be a bit stuck.

Good point Brendan.
The Omega site says 30M/100ft which in between the splash resistant and swimming categories.
This was washed gently on the strap mainly so it's open to a little interpretation. I've used in the shower a few times since new and never had any problems. So I still feel that the problem occurred after the initial repair.
