Saturday lunchtime, myself, girlfriend, baby daughter and my mum went down to the harbour for a bite to eat. Ordered our food and my girlfriend ordered oinion rings as a side dish.

The food comes and we all tuck in and the food is pretty good. The onion rings may have been fried with a piece of cod or with scampi but otherwise fine.

My girlfriend is tucking into her third onion ring when the waitress wonders over and says :-

"I'm sorry to tell you, but I think your onion rings are actually Calamari"

the expression on my girlfriends face was priceless!!!

Shes quite fussy about what goes in her mouth at the best of times (Boom Boom) but to be told shes been eating squid rings and not onion rings must have been awful for her but for me, my mum and some of the other diners close by, it made the afternoon

Needless to say much grovelling was done to apologise for laughing in the restaurant.

I'd had about 4 or 5 and just thought they were a bit stringy for onions and must have been fried alongside scampi or something becuase of the slightly fishy taste.

We were all chatting away and playing with the nipper we just didn't pay too much attention.
