Default science qualifications..

I was wondering about some cool kind of science qualification, I like biology and chemistry and did them up to A level. I found the biology interesting but the chemistry was absolutly boring and too hard so it made me lose interest..

I just wanted some ideas for certain science courses that are different form boring A level and some kind of job in the same field ..

Also any ideas what jobs you can get with bio/chem kind of quals?
I don't know what to do ......

Audi-boy,

I did biol, chem, environmental science, and maths a-levels
About to start my final year at uni doing zoology.
Think it is a great course cos you get to do everything: env sci, plants, marine biol, animal behaviour, physiology, etc, etc.
Loads of peeps i know started on different science courses and changed to zoology because you do everything about everything!
Hope this helps. If you want anymore info pm me.

C.

Sounds interesting sleeka, like the idea of:

env sci, plants, marine biol, animal behaviour, physiology, etc, etc.

I guess thats classed as the environmental science course.
I'll have a look on google.

Biochem stuff could get you work in the pharmaceutical industry, which pays well. But you'd have to do a 4-year degree first.

I did a degree in Forensic Science and Chemistry. It was very hard but rewarding and the stuff we had to do was mad, fingerprinting, b*mb making, murder techniques, etc etc etc I remember sitting in lectures one time thinking 'I cant believe they are actually teaching us stuff like this'..

Im thinking about going back and doing a motorsport degree now cos its my passion. As my parents always used to say, get a job doing what you love (hobby).

I did a degree in Biochemistry (4 years at Bath, including two 6 month secondments) - loved it and worked abroad on the secondments. Then did chartered accountancy and am now a venture capitalist (sod all money in science - I liked the theory side but wasn't committed enough to work stupid hours with a beard and sandals on part time contracts).

Point is, if you're not sure what to do yet, choose a degree that gives you options rather than a vocational one, but choose one where you have an interest and might decide to pursue it further.

Good luck!
