sat nav on a laptop

Question sat nav on a laptop

Is it possible to use sat nav on a lap top rather than the rather singular expensive units that I have seen currently on the market. Not talking about hand held computers either, just regular lap tops that can be upgraded.

Yeah you can use a USB or serial GPS device & use Mappoint to see where you are, have it on my lappy. The serial GPS device cost me about £60 off ebay iirc

I believe you can get a pcmcia card that would give you gps, therefore giving you sat nav i suppose?

Bit big to sit on the dash top though?
Why not look at the new Tomtom go, I have one and its just amazing....
