small & powerful magents where can you get them?
I recall ages ago talk of people putting small strong magents by their oil filter or such like to attract any small metalic bits in oil but i'll be boogered if i can find any of those threads & associated places to get small super magnets from & i'm a cheap skate so wanted to see if i can go the cheap way rather than spending over a tenner on a magnetic sump plug......
Any info?
Cheers folks

Take an old computer hard drive to bits. There are two relatively strong (certainly strong enough for what you want to do) magnets in there.
I just read the thread again, and maybe modern hard disk drives' magnets won't be strong enough - however if you can find an older disk drive then the magnets in there are bloody strong!

Log on to a Magic site and buy one or two from them.
Try WWW.MAGICTRICKS.COM
They are watch battery size and so powerfull that I needed a pair of pliers to get one off a central heating radiator.
Magicians use them for coin tricks, and they are not that expensive.
Or find an old hi-fi speaker and attack it with a hammer.
