Default Help!!! POLICE ISSUE

On saturday a good freind of mine organises a cruise in Crawley, it was one of the biggest ever turn outs and was really pleased.
The gates of the Car-park close around 11 when... so we hit Brighton.
on the way i was racing my mate in his FTO and My best mate in his pulsar, giving us time ahead we went off he then shot off behind without seeing the old bill, got pulled doing 110mph and showd him the video footage

he got a producer
and bin told hes going to court,

now will be have his licence taken away???????????

i feel bad for startin the race!!!!

ignore the barrage of comments that will certainly ensue!
its done now so no amount of lecturing and told you so will change he situation!!

*a good friend of mine* got done at 112mph on a motorway.
it was more like 125 but was argued down in court.
*my friend* made sure he was represented in court with a good brief.
wearing a suit, shaven with a good haircut.
outcome:

sp50, £200 fine and 14 day disqualification with no points.

sp50 = exceeding 70 on a motorway and carries little insurance hike (about £25 at *his* last renewel).

My old man got done at 110mph and got himself a good brief, argued the fact that his job required a driving licence and if he lost his licence he lost his job, and that would be a bit bad with 5 kids to feed so the courts gave him a biggish fine and he drove home!!

Fingers crossed eh?!!!

What type of road was it on, what was the speed limit? If it was a 60 limit and he got recorded at 110 then he's probably looking at a couple of months ban, maybe more. It's also possible he could be done for more than just speeding depending on what the video caught.

I think Peanuts mate got off quite lightly. I was done for 116 on a 70 limit dual carriageway, did the full suit, solicitor routine, letter from employer saying job was at risk etc and got a SP30, a 6 week ban and about a 300 quid fine. There are penalty guidelines and it's up to the magistrate to decide at which end of the spectrum the penalty will be. I wouldn't sugar coat it to your mate, better to prepare for the worse case.

Brit in...
the difference between you and my mate is that he was on a motorway hence SP50.
exceeding the ton on a motorway carries generally a lesser penalty than exceeding a ton on a normal road...

Yes, one of *my mates* had a similar situation, same thing happen'd

I know it's hard but try not to race on the road, it can have a very unhappy ending, an old lady ended up dead up the road from me (near Milton Keynes) a couple of weeks ago that seems to have been caused by 3 guys having a bit of fun early in the morning...

Cheers

it was more like dual carriageway....

either it was or it wasnt.
ergo - either its an sp50 or an sp30
vizavi - the outcome will change depending.

(anymore matrix expressions I can fit into this?)

they mod easily to a level.
they suffer the same transmission losses (maybe a bit more?)
they are small and lightweight.
theres one along my road and on more than one occasion we have gunned it at appropriate places.
my 99 is about 260bhp and he's yet to go past me.
if I had £3 - 4 k lying around I might well be tempted, cheap as chips, better value than an early scoob really

struggled against an evo 5 but its sposed to be over 450bhp,
his pulsar is something like 309 bhp, the funny thing is the morning this happend he had an apexi AVCR boots Control fitted and an boost valve

all it needs now is a front mount intercooler.... itz a real head turner
itl be a shame if he lost his license

Speeding - he'll get a few hundred quid fine and up to a month or so ban, if he's lucky he may get the fine and heavy points.

Racing - is Dangerous Driving with a 1 year ban and resit the driving test.

He'll just need to keep his fingers crossed until the NIP arrives.

I got done for doing 107 on a 70 mph dual carriageway in North Wales [Brunstrom's patch] Fortunately they did not get me for the 130 I had been doing. Went to court, with a brief, and got 21 days, £460 and an SP30. I was banned over Xmas so it was fine - the missus drove all the time and I got drunk every night !
