seeing red
i think of myself as being fairly even tempered - however, totally lost it this evening. driving back from having dinner with some friends, the wife was driving as i'd had a few glasses of wine. traffic thru' greenwich was appalling, and to make it worse several jokers were driving around the outside of the one way system and cutting back in later on. the baby was tired and screaming her head off. then some geezer drives straight into the back of us. it was only a nudge, but it upset the wife. normally i would shrug off that sort of thing, but instead i leapt out, ripped the guy's door open and went into a rage at him.
if it was you driving that white panel van - i apologise. it was a momentary loss of temper.

jye - i agree absolutely. you never know who you are going to come up against. the thing was, i didn't think at all. luckily the guy was quite apologetic. i ended up just mumbling "well pay attention ffs!" and getting back into the car.

I had this once whilst driving home with my then pregnant wife in the car,we was on a 1 way system,me left hand lane for straight on and him in right hand lane to follow round on the system.Anyway this pr@t decides he's going the wrong way so cuts just as we reach the ballards causing me to lockup and swerve up the kerb needless to say i was seriously pissed and usually i just give hand signals but on this occasion (dont know if due to my unborn being put at risk) i got out of my car at the traffic lights and ran up to his car screaming abuse,he locked his door before i could open it so i caved his door in with my feet,he shot off in one hell of a hurry as the lights changed and i just stood there in the middle of the road thinking did i just do that? poor bloke cacked his breachers and i still to this day dont know why i snapped like that? i'm quiet a big bloke but usually very placid but when i do on the odd occasion get the green mist, luckily its on very rare occasions

p@ul - i honestly think that having the wife and child or child to be in the car does make a difference. when driving on my own i don't tend to get as agitated.
